The Slotegraaf HANDS team has arrived home from another productive work trip in Belize. After five days in Belize, Pastor Betson, the local pastor, was pleased to report that 'the men were well on target to accomplish fitting two weeks of work into one week.' This is the advantage of skilled men volunteering their time to go and make a difference in the lives of this community and the children attending Unity Presbyterian School.

With temperatures soaring in the low thirites in Belize City, the team and local supervisors completed their work. All the forming, shoring, and plywood sheating work is done and ready for pouring concrete, hopefully to be poured on the following Saturday by Emmanuel and Omer, two local men. The men even found some time to give the supply room/workshop a good house cleaning; much to the dismay of a few geckos who were unhappy to have their habitats swept up.

The week was not all work though. After a work day that finished early, they were able to head into town to see the sights and do some shopping. The last day before leaving, the men enjoyed a relaxing day on the Caribbean Sea snorkelling and swimming and did some sight-seeing on the island.

After breakfast on Thursday, the team went to the school for chapel and to say 'See you next year!' They participated in the singing with the students and listened to the Pastor's message of encouragement to the students. Good-byes were said, a quick tour of Old Belize, and they arrived home again late Thursday night.
